Soybean Nutrition in a Novel Single-Nutrient Source Hydroponic Solution

چکیده

Hydroponic systems are efficient for studying plant nutrition. It is often desirable to adjust individual nutrients unique species’ needs and/or create multiple nutrient deficiencies within the same study. However, this challenging do with traditional solutions as generally added dual salts, such when varying phosphorus (P) concentration also affects nitrogen concentration; potentially, chemical form of taken up ammonium phosphate source P. This can unintended consequences other than those intended adjustment. A new hydroponic system has been created allow using single-nutrient sources, including nitrate; phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrochloric, and boric acids; potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper carbonates; manganese acetate; sodium molybdate; iron EDDHA; HEDTA an additional chelate. solution was compared a “Hoagland” grow soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr). Additional treatments included alteration pH in well evaluating levels manganese. proved effective, grown maturity performed Hoagland solution. Adjusting downward hydrochloric acid resulted healthy plants, but not adequately buffered. acetic toxicity. Further work required provide better buffering approximately align tissue concentrations field-grown soybean.

Nutrient Solutions for Hydroponic Systems

Among factors affecting hydroponic production systems, the nutrient solution is considered to be one of the most important determining factors of crop yield and quality. This chapter aims to explain aspects related to plant nutrition and its effects on production of hydroponic crops, considering basic aspects such as nutrient solutions and their development through the years; components of nutr...

Hydroponic Production of Purslane as a Sodium-removing Vegetable in NaCl-rich Nutrient Solution

To evaluate the potential of producing purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) as a sodium (Na)-removing vegetable hydroponically at moderate NaCl salinity, two cultivars (Green and Golden) were grown in solutions with added 0, 6, 8, and 10 mM NaCl (the actual Na concentrations ’2, 8, 10, and 12 mM, respectively). At harvest, 26 days after transplanting, apparent growth and biomass accumulation were n...

Nutrient Management in Recirculating Hydroponic Culture

INTRODUCTION There is an increasing need to recirculate and reuse nutrient solutions in order to reduce environmental and economic costs. However, one of the weakest points in hydroponics is the lack of information on managing the nutrient solution. Many growers and research scientists dump out nutrient solutions and refill at weekly intervals. Other authors have recommended measuring the conce...

Split-root Nutrition of Sweetpotato in Hydroponic Systems

Nutrient film technique (NFl) and deep water culture (DWC) hydroponic systems were used in a split-root study of the effect of four treatments on sweetpotato yield, the translocation of assimilates, and microbial population count. 'TU-155' cuttings (15 cm) were prerooted for 30 days in sand using deionized water and a modified half-Hoagland (MHH) solution. After 30 days, the plants were removed...

Soybean, Nutrition and Health

Soybean protein is one of the least expensive sources of dietary protein [3]. Soybean protein is considered to be a good substituent for animal protein [4], and their nutritional profile ex‐ cept sulfur amino acids (methionine and cysteine) is almost similar to that of animal protein because soybean proteins contain most of the essential amino acids required for animal and human nutrition. Rese...
